In Bhiwadi town, Rajasthan, four police officers, including Dara Singh, the station house officer (SHO) of UIT police station, have been booked following the alleged assault of a 16-year-old Dalit boy in custody. The boy was arrested on April 21 in connection with a two-wheeler theft case. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Sahoo, the boy's family lodged a complaint leading to an investigation after the victim was hospitalized with serious injuries, including a lung infection. The family reported that they were barred from meeting the boy and faced intimidation when attempting to document his injuries. Political figures, including former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and opposition leader Tikaram Jully, have condemned the incident, highlighting the severity of the boy's condition and the alleged torture he endured. An FIR has been filed against the involved officers, and a medical examination is being conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.
