The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has taken significant steps towards enhancing local infrastructure by approving a ₹2,813-crore land acquisition for an Aerocity-themed township and a joint venture with the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) for the development of an International Cricket Stadium (ICS) near Raj Nagar Extension. The stadium, which will occupy 34.42 acres, is projected to cost between ₹600-650 crore and will have a seating capacity of 35,000. Construction is expected to commence following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between GDA and UPCA, with completion anticipated in three years. The township will feature mixed land use, including luxury hotels, dining, and retail spaces, benefiting both stadium visitors and surrounding areas. This initiative aligns with directives from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to expedite the stadium's construction, emphasizing the project's importance to the region.
