Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari reviewed the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi route project, announcing that the remaining work is likely to be completed within four to six months. Currently, 65% of the Dive Ghat–Hadapsar stretch has been finished, with ongoing construction of separate lanes for warkaris (pilgrims), flyovers, underpasses, and modern bridges. Gadkari emphasized environmental conservation, noting that 40,000 trees have been planted and 46 ponds developed along the route. He also announced a ₹250 crore flyover project at Jejuri and a ₹950 crore National Highway project between Tembhurni and Pandharpur. The improvements are expected to enhance tourism, connectivity, and the rural economy, creating employment opportunities as the number of pilgrims visiting Pandharpur rises. Gadkari shared a personal story about his mother's difficult journey to a pilgrimage site, underscoring his commitment to improving road conditions. He assured that there would be no compromise on construction quality and addressed previous delays due to land acquisition and forest clearances.
