The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a partnership with Airtel Payments Bank to introduce co-branded RuPay ‘On-The-Go’ Cards, which are integrated with the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) system. This initiative allows commuters to make seamless payments across various metro systems, buses, and other transit networks throughout India. DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar and Airtel Payments Bank CEO Anubrata Biswas unveiled the cards during a ceremony at DMRC headquarters. The new cards, which include both debit and Prepaid Payment Instrument for Mass Transit Systems (PPI-MTS) options, represent a significant upgrade from existing DMRC-issued cards, which are limited to the Delhi Metro network. Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communications at DMRC, emphasized that this launch supports the Government of India's vision of 'One Nation, One Card' to simplify transit payments. The cards will be accessible at all DMRC stations within the next 10 days, and users can recharge them digitally through the DMRC or Airtel apps, reducing the need for in-person top-ups.
