The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a partnership with Airtel Payments Bank to launch co-branded RuPay 'On-The-Go' cards, which will feature the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) facility. This initiative allows commuters to use a single card for travel across metro systems, buses, and other transit networks throughout India, aligning with the Government of India's 'One Nation, One Card' vision. DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar emphasized the importance of innovative solutions for enhancing passenger convenience, while Airtel Payments Bank MD & CEO Anubrata Biswas highlighted the goal of modernizing urban mobility through secure digital solutions. The new cards will be available at all DMRC stations within the next 10 days, and users can recharge them digitally via the DMRC or Airtel apps, significantly improving convenience for millions of daily commuters. This launch represents a significant step towards integrating digital payments into public transport systems.
