At the 39th convocation of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, several significant healthcare projects will be launched, including an advanced neurosciences center, a maternal and child health center, and a state-of-the-art critical care block. The event, scheduled for April 30, will be graced by Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare J P Nadda, who will confer degrees to approximately 550 graduates. PGIMER Director Prof Vivek Lal emphasized the institute's commitment to excellence in healthcare, education, and research, noting that PGIMER caters to nearly 40 lakh patients annually. He highlighted the importance of programs like Ayushman Bharat, which facilitates affordable treatment options, and the expansion of AMRIT pharmacies on campus, increasing from four to fourteen. The institute is also transitioning to fully digital systems to enhance service delivery, showcasing its leadership in compassionate patient care.
