A group of masked burglars stole ₹27,000 (approximately $325 USD), a silver bowl, brass plates, and household appliances from a first-floor flat in Sarvodaya Enclave, near Malviya Nagar, South Delhi. The incident took place early on a Friday morning while the family was asleep. CCTV footage showed three suspects, partially clothed in undergarments and gloves, entering the home through an adjacent park. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Anant Mittal stated that the police are investigating whether the suspects are connected to the notorious “kachcha baniyan gang,” known for violent home invasions in the 1990s. Fortunately, no physical harm was inflicted on the family. The police have registered a burglary case and are working to identify and apprehend the suspects. Residents are urged to ensure their homes are secured at night to prevent such incidents.
