Delhi Police have arrested a 23-year-old fruit seller from Darbhanga for allegedly breaking into a locked house in Patel Nagar, central Delhi, and stealing cash and jewellery worth approximately ₹25 lakh (around $30,000 USD). The incident occurred earlier this week, with the suspect reportedly fleeing with around ₹10,000 (roughly $120 USD) in cash and valuable gold and silver items. After receiving a burglary complaint at 6 AM on Tuesday, police began their investigation. During their search, they discovered a mobile phone in the bathroom that did not belong to the residents. This phone led them to the suspect's nephew, who identified the phone as belonging to his uncle. To apprehend the suspect, head constable Vikas posed as a fruit vendor and arranged a meeting with the nephew. Following this, police conducted raids in Baljeet Nagar, leading to the arrest and recovery of some stolen items, including a 25kg locker that the suspect had abandoned due to its weight.
