The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition has nearly finalized its seat-sharing arrangement for the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections, confirming candidates for 15 out of 17 seats. Following a meeting in Mumbai, Maharashtra Congress chief Harshvardhan Sapkal announced that the Congress will contest seven seats, including Chandrapur and Yavatmal, while the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will field candidates in Pune, Thane, and Sangli-Satara. Shiv Sena will compete for four seats: Raigad, Jalgaon, Parbhani-Hingoli, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Sapkal criticized the ruling BJP-led Mahayuti for allegedly using money to sway the electoral process and attempting to poach opposition corporators. He emphasized the MVA's commitment to combating what he described as the ruling alliance's misuse of power. In preparation for the elections, the Congress has designated senior leaders as election observers to enhance organizational coordination and oversee the electoral process.
