In a heartbreaking scene at Bargi Dam in Madhya Pradesh, divers recovered the bodies of a woman and her child from a capsized tourist boat, bringing the death toll to nine. The incident occurred during a storm, leading to the boat's capsizing while carrying an estimated 43 to 45 passengers, despite tickets being issued for only 29. Rescue operations have so far saved 28 individuals, but four remain missing. The recovery was particularly challenging due to the hazardous conditions within the submerged vessel, which was located 20 feet underwater. Divers faced difficulties navigating through jagged iron rods and narrow spaces, with one diver narrowly avoiding entrapment. The local police superintendent, Anjul Mishra, confirmed that hydraulic machinery and excavators are being used to assist in the recovery efforts. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is expected to visit Jabalpur to assess the situation.
