N Rangasamy, the leader of the All India N.R. Congress (AINRC), is set to take the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Puducherry on May 13. The ceremony will be conducted by Lieutenant Governor K Kailashnathan at 9:47 AM at Lok Nivas. This will be Rangasamy's fifth term as Chief Minister. In the recent Assembly elections held on April 9, the AINRC achieved a significant victory, winning 12 out of 16 constituencies it contested. Meanwhile, its coalition partner, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), secured four out of ten seats. The AIADMK and the Lakshiya Jananayaga Katchi each won one seat, bringing the total strength of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to 18 in the 30-member assembly. It remains uncertain whether BJP members will also be sworn in alongside Rangasamy during the ceremony.
