In Gurugram, Haryana, India, a contractual supervisor from Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (DHBVN) has been booked following an incident where a lineman, Tej Pal, aged 28, sustained burn injuries. The incident occurred on Sunday around 5 PM when Pal attempted to disconnect a live feeder after receiving an alert about a fire in a transformer. Despite informing his superiors and requesting the feeder to be shut down, Pal was instructed by the supervisor to disconnect the supply, who assured him that the main power was off. However, the power was still live, leading to an explosion that injured Pal. He was initially treated at a private hospital and later discharged from ESIC Hospital. The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the supervisor under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. DHBVN has also initiated an inquiry into the incident to ascertain responsibility.
