Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced a major initiative to recruit around 100,000 new personnel for the state police and allied forces in 2023. At an event in Lucknow, he highlighted that nearly 57,000 constables have already been recruited and deployed across various districts. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board is actively conducting recruitment processes across multiple categories, including civil police and home guards, with recent written examinations for over 41,000 home guard positions completed. Adityanath emphasized the overhaul of the recruitment system to ensure fairness and merit-based selections, contrasting it with past irregularities. He noted that over the last nine years, more than 2.20 lakh personnel have joined the Uttar Pradesh Police.
