On Saturday afternoon, a 70-year-old woman named Sumanjit lost her life in a tragic accident on NH-19 in Palwal, Haryana. The incident occurred when an SUV, driven by Vivek Kumar (22), collided with a stationary truck that was parked illegally without any hazard lights. The crash resulted in severe damage to the SUV, briefly trapping its occupants inside. Alongside Sumanjit, three others, including Vivek's wife Chanchal (22) and mother Kusum (40), sustained injuries but are currently stable at a private hospital in Palwal. The family was returning from a visit to Kokiladham in Mathura. Following the accident, police were alerted by Vivek's cousin, Rahul Kumar, who was traveling in a separate vehicle. An FIR has been registered against the truck driver under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita for negligence and rash driving. The driver fled the scene, and police are actively working to trace him using CCTV footage.
