The incident reportedly occurred when the girl plucked a fruit from a tree in the man's courtyard. In response, the man allegedly tied her to a railing in his house. Following the circulation of the video and a complaint received via the 112 emergency helpline, police acted swiftly. On April 5, 2026, they arrived at the scene, ensured the child received a medical examination, and detained the accused. He now faces charges under relevant sections of the BNS and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act. The police emphasized that such actions are not only illegal but also violate basic human sensitivity.
