Mohit, a 19-year-old from Azad Nagar in Ludhiana, was reported missing on April 1 and was later found dead in the Atam Nagar area. His friend, a 15-year-old boy, allegedly took him from his home and returned alone, prompting Mohit's family to search for him. They were alerted to his condition when a passerby found him unconscious outside Atam Public School. Mohit was taken to Civil Hospital and later referred to PGIMER in Chandigarh, where he succumbed to his injuries. Mohit's father, Surinder Kumar Gumbar, filed a complaint after the minor and his father, Sushant, changed their story about the last sighting of Mohit. The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Sections 103(1) (murder), 61(2) (criminal conspiracy), and 238 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigators are conducting raids and examining CCTV footage as they pursue the case.
