The Delhi government is launching outreach camps across the city to facilitate access to 5-kg LPG cylinders for migrant labourers, as stated in an official announcement. District Magistrates have been instructed to hold these camps in areas with a high concentration of migrant workers to enhance last-mile delivery of cooking fuel. This initiative follows a decision by the central government to increase the allocation of 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders for migrant workers by 100%. Consequently, the Delhi government has also doubled the daily availability of these cylinders from 684 to 1,368. The camps will be organized in collaboration with oil marketing companies and their authorized distributors, allowing eligible beneficiaries to procure cylinders upon payment and submission of Aadhaar as identity proof. District Enforcement Teams will assist in identifying demand and monitoring the distribution process to ensure it is orderly. This initiative aims to reduce access barriers for migrant workers and improve the timely availability of essential cooking fuel throughout Delhi.
