In a significant crackdown on crime, the Delhi Police executed Operation Kavach 13.0 over a 48-hour period from March 29 to March 31. This operation led to 222 arrests and 1,579 detentions across various crime-prone areas in the West District of Delhi. The enforcement drive included 93 intelligence-based raids in locations such as JJ clusters and liquor routes. During the operation, police registered nine cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, seizing 8.894 kg of illegal drugs including ganja, heroin, and smack. Additionally, 24 cases were filed under the Delhi Excise Act, resulting in the recovery of 2,198 quarters of illicit liquor. The police also took action under the Arms Act, leading to 18 cases and the confiscation of knives and vehicles. Furthermore, 19 gambling cases were registered, with cash recovered amounting to ₹26,470 (approximately $320 USD). The operation was designed to enhance police visibility and deter habitual offenders, thereby significantly disrupting local crime networks.
