In a significant counter-terrorism operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested Hurera, a key operative of the Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), in the Harwan area near Srinagar. His network had been operational since 2011, utilizing connections within local communities and educational institutions to evade law enforcement. Hurera's marriage to the daughter of a Jamaat-e-Islami member allowed him to gain trust within the socio-religious fabric of the region. The police revealed that he was involved in criminal activities and played a pivotal role in financing terrorism, transporting money from Saudi Arabia through Hajj and Umrah travel agents. This arrest sends a strong message that even entrenched operatives cannot operate freely, as authorities continue to disrupt terrorist networks in Jammu and Kashmir.
