On Saturday morning, parts of Delhi-NCR experienced shallow fog, a rare occurrence for April, caused by a combination of recent rain, falling night temperatures, and high humidity. Mahesh Palawat, president at Skymet Weather, explained that light rain on Friday raised moisture levels, while cooler temperatures and clear skies overnight facilitated condensation. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 20.7°C, which was above normal but still conducive for fog. The day progressed into a mild afternoon with a maximum temperature of 32°C, about 2 degrees below normal. Rainfall was limited, with only 0.5mm recorded at Safdarjung, while Ayanagar saw 5.8mm. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted continued mild weather with chances of light rain or thundershowers in the evenings. An active western disturbance is expected to bring more rainfall starting Monday night, potentially impacting temperatures and weather patterns in the region. Notably, the air quality index improved from 266 (poor) to 137 (moderate), attributed to favorable meteorological conditions.
