On Friday, the Madras High Court in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, declined to prohibit the screening of 'Dhurandhar 2' until the upcoming Assembly elections. The petition, filed by advocate Sheela, argued that the film contained political content favoring the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which she claimed violated the model code of conduct (MCC) designed to ensure fair elections. However, the court, led by Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan, stated that the petition did not specify which aspects of the film favored a political party. Furthermore, the court noted that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had issued a certificate for the film's screening, which was not being challenged. The judges highlighted that without a challenge to the CBFC's certification, they could not ban the film's screening.
