On April 6, 2023, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested three officials from the Pune Zilla Parishad’s education department for allegedly demanding a bribe of ₹3 lakh (approximately $3,600 USD) to process a promotion-related proposal. The accused, identified as Anil Randhave (32), Rajesh Khandare (52), and Atish Shinde (40), included a senior assistant and two other officials. They initially accepted ₹25,000 and demanded the remaining ₹2.75 lakh from the complainant, who reported the matter to the ACB. Following a verification on February 11, 2023, the ACB laid a trap and caught the trio accepting the bribe in front of Avenue Mall, Pune. The officials allegedly delayed the complainant’s work and demanded money to expedite the proposal. The case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and further investigation is ongoing.
