In a controversial move, senior police inspector Sagar Ingole, who is facing allegations of demanding bribes from officers in the Kashimira Traffic Division, was transferred to the Pelhar police station rather than being suspended. The allegations stem from a complaint filed by a female police constable in September 2025, who reported that Ingole demanded a monthly bribe of ₹15,000. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) verified the complaint and found evidence against both Ingole and a sub-inspector, who explicitly mentioned that the bribe was to be given to 'the boss.' During a verification stage, Ingole indicated his willingness to accept a bribe, stating that the complainant could give whatever amount she wished at a later time. This transfer comes on the heels of the suspension of another inspector, Jitendra Vankoti, related to a drug manufacturing bust in Pelhar, raising concerns about the police administration's decision-making processes. However, senior police officials have defended the transfer as a routine procedure.
