Uddhav Bhagwan Kapse, a resident of Buttegaon in Jalna district, Maharashtra, was arrested by the West Region Cyber Police for allegedly circulating a misleading video related to the plane crash that killed former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on January 28. The crash, which occurred while Pawar was en route to his constituency in Baramati, resulted in the deaths of Pawar, his security officer Vidip Jadhav, pilot captain Sumit Kapur, first officer captain Shambhavi Pathak, and flight attendant Pinky Mali. The video, which drew around 150,000 views, contained offensive and misleading claims about the incident and aimed to defame current chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. The video was created using clips from various news channels, altered with artificial intelligence to include objectionable commentary. Following the investigation, Kapse was arrested and brought to Mumbai, where he was presented in a Bandra court and remanded in police custody until April 10.
