Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced new procurement rules aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in the state's crop procurement system. During a visit to Kurukshetra, Saini stated that these initiatives will curb unauthorized activities and provide faster services to farmers. A key feature is the implementation of a three-tier crop verification system, ensuring that crops brought to procurement centers match those registered by farmers, thus improving accuracy. To facilitate the procurement process, the government has appointed nodal officers in each market to regularly monitor operations, with senior officials overseeing district markets. Additionally, farmers can now issue gate passes based on vehicle photos, easing the process for those using older or new vehicles. Saini also addressed farmers' concerns regarding selling wheat and payment processes while honoring a local farmer for his contributions. Furthermore, he announced infrastructure developments, including the widening of the Mathana-Babain road at a cost of ₹13.38 crore (approximately $1.6 million USD) and a grant of ₹51 lakh (approximately $61,000 USD) for the Savitribai Jyotiba Phule Group of Institutions.
