According to official statistics, street crimes in Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh, India, saw a remarkable 42% decline during the winter season from November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, compared to the same period in the previous year. The total number of reported street crime cases decreased from 2,070 to 1,185. Significant reductions were noted in various crime categories: loot incidents dropped by 71.4%, snatching cases by 80.8%, and vehicle thefts by 53.3%. The assistant commissioner of police, Priyashri Pal, attributed this decline to increased police presence and enhanced patrolling strategies, particularly in high-risk areas. The police also emphasized the importance of community coordination in crime prevention. Moving forward, they plan to continue these proactive measures to maintain control over street crime in the district.
