On Tuesday, Ludhiana police conducted a significant operation resulting in the arrest of 19 individuals and the seizure of various narcotics and illegal items. The operation, part of the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, recovered 159 grams of heroin, 2 kg of ganja, 72 bottles of illicit liquor, 75 intoxicant tablets, and ₹1.37 lakh (approximately $1,650 USD) in cash, along with a scooter. Targeted areas included Himmat Singh Nagar, Dr Ambedkar Nagar, Manohar Nagar, and Jawahar Nagar, identified as high-risk zones for drug activity. Led by the deputy commissioner of police (Investigation), the operation involved around 200 police personnel, including senior officers and specialized teams.
