Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar expressed his discontent with approximately 25 Congress MLAs traveling to Delhi to lobby the All India Congress Committee (AICC) for ministerial positions, stating that it is not the right time given the ongoing elections. Shivakumar, who also serves as the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, emphasized that while it is acceptable to request ministerial posts, the focus should remain on the elections. His comments contrast with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's view, who believes there is nothing wrong with the MLAs' visit to Delhi. Senior MLA AR Krishnamurthy indicated that the push for a cabinet reshuffle is driven by senior MLAs who are seeking to meet with prominent Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. The Siddaramaiah government is nearing its three-year mark, and the MLAs are advocating for a reshuffle now that bypolls have concluded. However, sources suggest that Shivakumar is hesitant about a cabinet reshuffle, fearing it may jeopardize his aspirations for the chief minister position in the near future.
