US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning that any Iranian fast-attack vessels approaching the naval blockade around Iran's ports will be destroyed. In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Iran's navy had been largely decimated, with 158 ships sunk, and that the remaining fast-attack ships would be targeted if they approached the blockade. The US naval blockade, which took effect at 1400 GMT on Monday, is aimed at all vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports, including those in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. However, as the deadline passed, there were no visible signs of interceptions at sea. In response, Iran's acting Minister of Defence, Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Ibn Reza, stated that their armed forces are on maximum combat alert, prepared for any provocation. Iranian officials, including Alaeddin Boroujerdi, have labeled Trump's claims as unfounded propaganda, asserting that the US lacks the capability to enforce such a blockade effectively. This escalation comes despite a recent truce aimed at facilitating negotiations between the two nations.
