The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has commenced construction on the Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) station in Jangpura, Delhi, which will function as a depot for the operational Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor. This project faced delays due to land-related legal disputes. The facility will manage and stabling trains during non-operational hours, optimizing turnaround times and enhancing service reliability. Additionally, NCRTC is undertaking multi-modal integration works at the Sarai Kale Khan RRTS station, a key interchange hub that will improve last-mile connectivity between different transport systems. These enhancements include connecting points with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and a foot overbridge leading to Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station. The ongoing development aims to reduce transfer times for commuters using regional rail, metro, and Indian Railways services. Furthermore, a fire tender bridge is being constructed at the New Ashok Nagar station to facilitate emergency vehicle access. The Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor, India's first semi-high-speed regional rail system, is designed to reduce travel time and decongest roads in the National Capital Region (NCR).
