On Friday morning, two masked gunmen opened fire at Prem Dhaba near Lalheri Chowk on the National Highway in Khanna, Punjab, India, after the owner, Naresh Kumar Pathak, allegedly refused to pay a ₹50 lakh (approximately $60,000 USD) extortion demand. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident, which occurred around 6:30 am when the dhaba was closed. The gunmen, believed to be linked to gangsters Doni Bal and Shaganpreet Singh, fired four to five rounds at the shutter before fleeing the scene. Pathak had previously informed the police about receiving threats from the gangsters, prompting an FIR against them. The police are currently examining CCTV footage to identify the shooters and trace their escape route. This incident follows a similar case involving the same gangsters at a grain market in Payal, where seven individuals were arrested.
