A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Chandigarh is currently addressing procedural matters in the bribery case involving Harcharan Singh Bhullar, a 2009-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, and his co-accused Kirshanu Sharda. Bhullar was arrested on October 16, 2025, after a scrap dealer alleged he solicited a bribe through Sharda to resolve an FIR at the Sirhind police station. The court's proceedings focused on defense applications for access to documents and clarification on evidence collected during the investigation. Bhullar requested 'unrelied' documents, while Sharda sought details on certain records. Both accused were presented via video conferencing and remain in judicial custody. Additionally, the court received a compliance report from the Mohali deputy commissioner's office confirming the preservation of CCTV footage, addressing previous delays in submission.
