An'Tyne Layton, 21, has been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action following the shooting death of 18-year-old Ke'Ron Brown in Kansas City's Marlborough Heights neighborhood on November 18. According to the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, Layton allegedly arranged a gun sale with Brown through Instagram. The shooting occurred in an apartment parking lot, where Brown was found with gunshot wounds and later pronounced dead at a hospital. Witnesses identified Layton as the shooter, and surveillance footage captured the moments leading up to the shooting, including a physical altercation between Brown and others. Layton is being held in the Jackson County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash-only bond, with no further court dates currently scheduled.
