REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL) has initiated two major tenders for the establishment of inter-state transmission systems aimed at evacuating power from 21.5 Gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy projects in Gujarat, India. These projects include 15 GW in Lakadia, 5.5 GW in Jam Khambhaliya, and 1 GW in Jamnagar district. The tenders are part of a competitive bidding process and are expected to be completed within 36 months. The power ministry has designated RECPDCL as the bid process coordinator for selecting transmission service providers. Interested companies have until July 6 to submit their bids. This initiative aligns with the government's target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity from non-fossil sources by 2030.
