Nida Khan, a 26-year-old employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was arrested late Thursday night in a bungalow located in the Naregaon area of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, after evading authorities since April 10. Khan is implicated in the Nashik TCS case, facing charges including sexual harassment, hurting religious sentiments, and violations under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Her arrest followed a joint operation by the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Police and Nashik City Police, prompted by the rejection of her anticipatory bail plea by a Nashik sessions court. Khan's family claims she is innocent and has raised concerns about her health as she is four months pregnant. They assert that they had explored all legal avenues to avoid her arrest, fearing the impact of incarceration on her health. The case has also attracted political attention, with allegations that Khan received assistance while on the run, particularly from AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel, who met with her family during their time in hiding. Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Sanjay Shirsat criticized Jaleel, suggesting that Khan had received undue support. Investigators believe Khan relocated to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar to evade arrest after earlier searches at her husband's residence in Mumbra proved unsuccessful.
