Dhirendra Singh (MLA for Jewar, Uttar Pradesh) has expressed serious concerns regarding the inadequate firefighting infrastructure in Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad during a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Singh highlighted that the existing firefighting resources are insufficient for the growing number of high-rise buildings, putting thousands of families at risk. He noted that the district currently has only 28 fire engines, while the requirement is 54, and only 160 firefighters are available, far below the needed 300. Singh urged for the deployment of higher-capacity fire tenders and stricter enforcement of fire safety regulations, including regular inspections of fire safety systems in residential buildings. He also stressed the importance of conducting regular awareness programs and mock drills to prepare residents for emergencies. The Chief Minister assured Singh that necessary actions would be taken to address these issues, which are critical for the safety of lakhs of citizens in the area.
