Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has made a significant entry into the B2B industrial electronics sector by launching L&T Electronic Products & Systems (LTEPS). The new division will operate from its Coimbatore campus in Tamil Nadu, India, and aims to enhance the country's electronics manufacturing ecosystem. L&T Chairman & Managing Director S N Subrahmanyan emphasized that this venture is crucial for achieving the company's Lakshya 2031 goal of strengthening technology leadership and promoting self-reliance in critical manufacturing sectors. Initially, two manufacturing lines have been set up to provide electronics manufacturing services to both domestic and international clients. LTEPS will leverage L&T's expertise in Strategic Electronics to develop products across various domains, including power electronics, mobility, industrial robotics, and communication platforms. The company plans to adopt a blended approach that combines in-house research and development (R&D) with technology partnerships and advanced testing infrastructure to deliver market-ready solutions. Looking forward, LTEPS has ambitious expansion plans, aiming to utilize a 40-acre zone within the Coimbatore campus to encompass the entire industrial electronics value chain, including R&D, product development, contract manufacturing, and testing services.
