Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a major Indian multinational involved in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, has launched its new business vertical, L&T Electronic Products & Systems (LTEPS), at its Coimbatore campus in Tamil Nadu. This initiative marks L&T's entry into the B2B industrial electronics sector, with plans to manufacture products across key segments such as power electronics, mobility, industrial robotics, and communication platforms. LTEPS will be headquartered in Bengaluru and aims to enhance India's self-reliance in critical manufacturing as part of L&T's 'Lakshya 2031' strategy. The company plans to expand its operations across a 40-acre zone in Coimbatore, focusing on the entire electronics value chain, including research and development, product development, and testing services. Despite this positive development, L&T reported a 4.27% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹3,215.11 crore for Q3 FY26, even as revenue rose by 10.48% to ₹71,449.70 crore. Following the announcement, L&T's shares fell 1.15% to ₹4,007.50 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
