The Sahakarnagar police in Navi Peth, Maharashtra, have registered a case against four doctors and two nurses from Chinmay Hospital for alleged medical negligence leading to the death of an 11-month-old girl. The complaint, filed by the child's father, Hanuman Githe, claims that the medical staff failed to provide adequate monitoring and timely care after the girl was admitted on May 22, 2025, for vomiting and dehydration. Reports from a medical board indicated negligence, prompting the FIR under various sections of the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The family alleges that critical monitoring equipment was not used properly and that there was a delay in medical response despite the child's deteriorating condition. They also claim that medical records were tampered with after the girl's death, suggesting attempts to cover up the incident. In response, Dr. Mukund Sangamnerkar, head of the hospital, stated that the child was in a serious condition upon arrival and that they had recommended a post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death, which the family declined.
