On Wednesday morning, a 21-year-old UPSC aspirant was discovered dead at her home in Kailash Hills, Delhi. The victim, daughter of an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, was allegedly raped and strangled with a mobile phone charger cable. Police suspect her former househelp, Rahul, a 19-year-old from Rajasthan, who had been dismissed two months prior for stealing money while purchasing household supplies. Investigators found CCTV footage showing him near the house around 6:00 AM on the day of the incident. The victim's parents had left for their morning routine around 5:30 AM, returning to find their daughter's body at 8:30 AM. The police are conducting a thorough investigation, including a post-mortem to confirm the sexual assault, and are also exploring the possibility of stolen items. Following the incident, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president Saurabh Bharadwaj criticized Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for focusing on political campaigns instead of addressing safety concerns.
