In a significant operation on Tuesday, the Cyber Cell and Special Staff of the Delhi Police Crime Branch dismantled a counterfeit goods racket in Madhu Vihar, Delhi. The raid led to the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of over 100,000 fake ENO antacid sachets and approximately 50,000 counterfeit Nescafé coffee sachets. Authorities targeted two illegal manufacturing units where these counterfeit products were produced, packaged, and prepared for distribution. The scale of the operation was evident as police also recovered filling machines, raw materials, and packaging equipment, indicating that the units were functioning as full-fledged manufacturing setups. Earlier in April, another counterfeit goods racket was discovered in Kanjhawala, where six individuals were arrested for producing fake toothpaste. Investigations are ongoing to trace the broader supply and distribution networks connected to both operations, as officials express rising concerns over the health risks posed by counterfeit consumer goods.
