Passengers traveling between Chandigarh and New Delhi will encounter significant disruptions due to infrastructure work being carried out by Northern Railway. The signaling and loop line expansion at Shahabad Markanda and Mohri stations will result in a six-day traffic and power block on the Delhi-Ambala section from May 30 to June 6. This will particularly affect the Chandigarh-New Delhi Shatabdi Express, leading to its cancellation on June 6. Additionally, the Kalka-New Delhi Shatabdi will face operational delays of approximately 45 minutes during this period. The work involves extending loop lines and commissioning a new Electronic Interlocking system, impacting several premium trains, including the Ajmer-Chandigarh Vande Bharat, which will be suspended on June 6. The Anandpur Sahib-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express will also see a significant delay of 135 minutes. Train services such as the Chandigarh-Bandra Terminus Superfast Express, Chandigarh-Madgaon Express, and Chandigarh-Prayagraj Sangam Express will also be affected, with the railway authorities ensuring widespread communication regarding the changes.
