The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is advancing its Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) initiative by identifying 14 land parcels along metro corridors, which collectively span over 300,000 square meters. This strategic move aims to promote mixed-use urban zones that integrate residential, commercial, and retail spaces near public transport hubs, thereby enhancing accessibility and reducing reliance on private vehicles. Among the notable sites is a 76,251 square meter triangular parcel located behind Kailash Deepak Hospital in Karkardooma, which is already home to Delhi's first TOD project. Another significant plot of 124,828 square meters is designated for commercial use near the Peera Garhi district center along the Green Line. The DDA has revised its regulations to encourage high-density development, reducing minimum plot size requirements and increasing permissible Floor Area Ratio (FAR) to support affordable housing. The initiative has attracted interest from four private developers, signaling a collaborative approach to urban development in the capital.
