Students at Panjab University (PU) faced significant confusion when they arrived at examination centres on June 5 for papers that had already been conducted on June 2. The university acknowledged the error, attributing it to overlapping postponement orders. Initially, exams scheduled for May 28 were postponed to June 2 following requests from college principals due to scheduling conflicts. However, students mistakenly associated this change with another postponement related to Eid, which was set for June 5. Consequently, candidates from regional colleges arrived at their centres only to discover that their exams had already taken place. The affected subjects included public administration, home science, and philosophy for BA 2nd semester students. In response, PU announced that fresh examinations for these papers will be conducted for the affected candidates in the last week of July 2026. Importantly, students will not need to pay any additional fees or submit new forms. The university also assured that the evaluation process and result declaration will be expedited to prevent any disadvantage in upcoming admission processes.
