Washington State University (WSU) has announced the appointments of Fé LopezGaetke and Mary Nam to its Board of Regents, effective June 9. Governor Bob Ferguson praised both alumni for their advocacy and leadership. LopezGaetke, co-executive director at Purpose. Dignity. Action., has a strong background in diversity and inclusion, previously serving as the director of diversity at the Law School Admission Council. She emphasized her commitment to making education accessible for all, particularly for underrepresented communities. Nam, an Emmy Award-winning journalist with over 20 years at KOMO-TV, highlighted how her education at WSU shaped her successful broadcasting career. She has also been active in community service with various non-profits. Their appointments fill recent vacancies on the Board, which governs WSU and consists of 11 members, including a student and a faculty representative. A third appointment will be announced soon to fill the vacancy left by the late former state Senator Sam Hunt.
