Blossoming at the Farm, a non-profit organization dedicated to youth education, is hosting its seventh annual fundraiser on May 23 at Mary’s Farm and Sanctuary in southern Vancouver Island. The event, running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., aims to raise $10,000 to support land-based therapeutic and educational programs for children aged seven to 18. It will feature a variety of family-friendly activities, including chicken bingo, a community marketplace showcasing local crafts, and a disc-golf-inspired game called 'Ace for a Cake', where participants can win baked prizes. Additionally, there will be a silent auction with donated items from local businesses. The event emphasizes accessibility, utilizing a sliding-scale fee system to ensure that all families can participate, regardless of financial circumstances. Founded in 2017, Blossoming at the Farm currently serves about 35 full-time participants while also offering seasonal programming and therapeutic support throughout the year. This fundraiser is crucial for maintaining access for families who might struggle with costs, making it a significant community event.
