Three individuals were arrested in Uttar Pradesh in connection with the murder of Chandranath Rath, an aide to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. The arrests were made by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) following the murder that took place on the night of May 6 in Madhyamgram, located in North 24 Parganas district. Investigators utilized digital clues and technical surveillance to trace the suspects, leading to their capture. The accused include Vishal Srivastava from Bihar's Buxar district and two others from Uttar Pradesh, one of whom is suspected to be a sharpshooter. The police believe that at least eight people were involved in the conspiracy, which was executed with meticulous planning, including reconnaissance of Rath's movements. Investigators are currently matching the identities of the arrested individuals with CCTV footage and other evidence to establish the sequence of events. The SIT continues to conduct raids across West Bengal to apprehend additional suspects.
