Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to begin a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh on April 28, during which he will unveil infrastructure and welfare projects totaling ₹6,350 crore (approximately $765 million USD). In Varanasi, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation for numerous projects, including the widening of the Varanasi-Azamgarh Road and a 55 MLD sewage treatment plant at Bhagwanpur. Additionally, he will launch community-oriented initiatives such as 30 rural drinking water schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission and a 100-bed old age home in Ramnagar.
On April 29, Modi will inaugurate the Ganga Expressway in Hardoi, a 594-kilometre corridor designed to improve connectivity across 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh. This expressway, built at a cost of ₹36,230 crore (approximately $4.4 billion USD), is expected to enhance logistics and reduce rail congestion, benefiting local economies. The Prime Minister will also flag off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains, improving travel between Uttar Pradesh and other states, while transferring over ₹105 crore in bonuses to local milk suppliers.
