The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education released the Class 12 (HSC) results for the February-March 2026 examinations, showing an overall pass percentage of 89.79%, a decline of 2.09 percentage points from last year's 91.88%. A total of 14,44,713 regular students registered for the exams, with 14,33,058 appearing and 12,86,843 passing. Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 93.15%, while boys recorded 86.80%. The Konkan division achieved the highest pass rate at 94.14%, whereas Latur had the lowest at 84.14%. Stream-wise, the Science stream led with 96.44%, although it decreased from 97.35% last year. Commerce and Arts streams saw sharper declines, with pass percentages dropping to 87.03% and 78.02%, respectively. Despite efforts to maintain a copying-free environment during the exams, 1,983 cheating cases were reported. Students can request rechecking and photocopies of their answer sheets from May 3 to May 17. Students who did not pass are encouraged to take supplementary exams.
