A resident of the Mission Veng neighborhood in Aizawl and an elder of the Presbyterian Church, Tluanga's death occurred around 3 PM. His funeral is set for Monday. Born in 1933 in Bukpui village, Tluanga received his early education in Sialsuk and Aizawl before pursuing higher studies outside the state. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Scottish Church College in Calcutta in 1955, where he distinguished himself in his studies. After a brief stint as a teacher, he continued his academic journey and earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Gauhati University in 1974, making history as the first Mizo to obtain a doctorate in this field. Tluanga's legacy as an educator and academic leader has left a lasting impact on the educational landscape of Mizoram.
